Based on Fab Technical Requirements

📌 About This Checklist

These requirements apply to ALL Fab submissions regardless of product type. Complete this checklist alongside the specific checklist for your product category (Code Plugin, 3D Assets, Blueprints, or Audio).

👤 Publisher Account Setup

Set up your publisher profile correctly to receive payments and maintain credibility.

Professional Publisher Name

Publisher name must not be offensive, vulgar, or slanderous. Cannot contain "Epic Games", "Unreal Engine", or other organizations' names.

🚨 Critical: Choose a professional name that represents your brand. This appears on all your products.

Accurate Tax Information

Provide accurate trader, tax, and payout information in Publisher Profile settings.

🚨 Critical: Required to receive payments. Different requirements by country/region.

Valid Payout Information

Configure your payout method to receive earnings.

🚨 Critical: Payouts issued within 30 days after month end. Minimum $100 threshold to receive payout.

Primary Email Address Active

Your Primary Email Address is used for sale invitations and important communications.

💡 Tip: Check this email regularly. You'll receive sale invitations with deadlines here.

🎧 Support Requirements

You must support your products. This is an ongoing commitment, not a one-time checkbox.

Support Channels Configured

Configure support channels in your Publisher Profile's Publish Settings.

🚨 Critical: Email, Discord, forum - whatever works for you, but you MUST have one.

Actively Monitor Support Channels

Publishers must actively monitor and respond to support requests.

🚨 Critical: Unresponsive publishers may have products removed. Respond within reasonable timeframes.

Products Function as Advertised

Ensure all published products work as described and assist customers reporting issues.

💡 Tip: If something doesn't work, fix it or update the description. Misleading claims = bad reviews and potential removal.

Professional Communication

Maintain professionalism - be courteous, approachable, responsive, and respectful.

💡 Tip: Harassment or abusive language will not be tolerated. Even frustrated customers deserve respect.

📝 Product Description

Your product page is your sales pitch. Make it accurate and compelling.

English with Correct Spelling/Grammar

All text must be in English with proper spelling and grammar.

🚨 Critical: Poor grammar looks unprofessional. Use spell check. Have someone proofread.

Accurate Product Description

Description must accurately represent what buyers will receive.

🚨 Critical: Overpromising leads to refunds and bad reviews. Be honest about capabilities and limitations.

Clear Feature List

List all major features clearly so buyers know what they're getting.

💡 Tip: Bullet points work well. Be specific: "50 meshes" not "lots of meshes".

Dependencies Documented

List any plugins, engine features, or external requirements needed.

💡 Tip: "Requires Enhanced Input Plugin" or "No external dependencies" - be explicit.

⚙️ Technical Information

Fill out all relevant technical fields to help buyers evaluate your product.

All Relevant Fields Completed

Fill in all applicable Technical Information fields.

🚨 Critical: Incomplete technical info makes your product look unprofessional.

Supported Platforms Listed

Accurately list which platforms your product supports.

🚨 Critical: Don't claim platform support you haven't tested. Windows, Mac, Linux, consoles - be specific.

Network Replication Status

If applicable, state whether your product supports network replication.

💡 Tip: "Network Replicated: Yes/No/Not Applicable" - multiplayer compatibility matters to buyers.

Documentation Link

Provide link to documentation in Technical Information.

💡 Tip: Even a simple PDF or web page helps. Better documentation = fewer support requests.

🏷️ Category & Tags

Proper categorization helps buyers find your product.

Most Relevant Category Selected

Products must exist in the category most relevant to their functionality and style.

🚨 Critical: Miscategorized products may be rejected or moved by Epic.

Accurate and Relevant Tags

Tags must be accurate and relevant to the asset.

💡 Tip: Don't spam unrelated tags for SEO. It hurts discovery and trust. Use tags buyers would search for.

🖼️ Media Requirements

Screenshots and videos are your primary sales tools. Make them count.

Accurate Media Representation

Images and videos must accurately display product contents.

🚨 Critical: Don't show renders that look better than in-engine. Include actual editor screenshots.

High-Quality Screenshots

Use high-resolution screenshots that showcase your product well.

💡 Tip: 1920x1080 minimum. 4K preferred. Show multiple angles and use cases.

Video Demo (Recommended)

Video demonstrations significantly improve conversion rates.

💡 Tip: 1-3 minutes showing setup and usage. YouTube or Vimeo links work well.

📢 Required Disclosures

Certain information must be disclosed on your product page.

AI Usage Disclosure

Must disclose if generative AI tools were used during creation.

🚨 Critical: Check "Created with AI" if you used AI for code, art, audio, or documentation.

Mature Content Rating

Accurately rate mature content for ALL images, files, and Additional Files.

💡 Tip: If ANY part is mature, the whole product should be rated mature.

Promotional Content Disclosure

Disclose if offer contains paid advertisements or brand promotion.

💡 Tip: Product placement, logos, slogans promoting real-world brands must be disclosed.

Third-Party Software Usage

Declare if product includes, uses, or distributes third-party software.

💡 Tip: Fonts, sounds, APIs, libraries from other sources count as third-party.

Experimental/Beta Features Documented

If using experimental or beta engine features, state this clearly.

💡 Tip: Warn users about potential instability or future breaking changes.

💰 Pricing

Set your pricing appropriately and understand the payout structure.

Price Reflects Value

Prices should reflect the approximate value of the asset.

💡 Tip: Research similar products. Consider your effort, uniqueness, and target market.

Price in USD

Price selections are in US Dollars. International prices are calculated automatically.

💡 Tip: Epic converts to local currencies and may adjust for local pricing practices.

Understand Payout Terms

Payouts issued within 30 days after month end. $100 minimum threshold.

💡 Tip: If you don't hit $100, it rolls over. Refunds deducted from next payout.

📤 File Hosting (Project File Link)

Your files are submitted via a hosted download link.

Valid Hosting Site

Use Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, or similar hosting service.

🚨 Critical: Link must work for Epic to download. Test it yourself in an incognito window.

Link Active During Review

Keep link active until Epic generates a build.

🚨 Critical: Don't delete or change the link until your product is approved and live.

ZIP Archive Only

Files must be in .zip format. No .rar, .7z, or other archive formats.

💡 Tip: ZIP is the only accepted archive format on Fab.

Password in Version Notes (if applicable)

If your zip is password-protected, provide the password in Version Notes.

💡 Tip: Epic needs access to build your product. Unprotected is faster to process.

⚖️ Legal & Content Guidelines

Ensure your content complies with Epic's policies.

No Prohibited Content

Content must comply with Epic Games Content Guidelines.

🚨 Critical: Review Epic Games Content Guidelines for what's not allowed.

You Own Rights to Content

You must have rights to all content you're distributing.

🚨 Critical: Don't sell others' work. Have proper licenses for any third-party components.

No Executables or Installers

Cannot distribute .exe, .msi, .dmg, .iso, or other executables.
