Buildability on its own is a trap — anyone can build a visual novel now. The real signal is where *easy to build* overlaps *real, recent demand*. Apply three filters to the catalogue — our build-difficulty score at or below 2.7, at least a thousand titles of proven demand, and at least 40% of those titles released since 2023 — and exactly five genres clear all three.
Interactive fiction, hidden object, clicker, walking sim and card game. Each is a genre where AI can now do most of the production *and* a live, growing audience keeps buying. Two honourable mentions sit just outside the filter: farming sim has the hottest momentum of any easy genre but just misses the volume bar, and the JRPG is a content/art/music genre wearing a hard-RPG costume.
This isn't a forecast of what will sell — it's a map of where the build cost has collapsed and the audience is still arriving. What you make of that overlap is the strategy.
A note on the figures. Title counts and the share released since 2023 are from the MythicLemon Games Catalogue; AI-build difficulty is our own editorial assessment of current tooling. Owner figures, where shown, are banded estimates, not sales.
